Fundamentals Overview
- Helps you become familiar with the common functions used throughout CounterPoint SQL
Defining Items
- Includes: creating item records, assigning bar codes to items, defining inventory for items, identifying substitute items, viewing item information, creating item kits, renumbering items, creating margin-driven prices, creating item price rules, creating notes for items, purging inactive items.
Defining Customers
- Includes: creating customer records, defining customer shipping addresses, viewing customer information, creating notes for customers, zooming on customers, adjusting the balance of loyalty points, renumbering customers, merging customers, purging inactive customers, viewing customer reports.
Purchasing & Receiving
- Includes: defining vendors and vendor items, using the purchasing advice report, using the customer-specific purchase report, using the forecast-driven replenishment report, generating purchase requests, working with purchase orders, processing receivings, processing returns to vendors, processing purchasing adjustments.
Physical Count
- Includes:creating physical count transactions, printing the physical count worksheet, entering the counts, previewing the counts before posting, posting the counts, removing physical count transactions, importing physical counts.
Transfers

Point of Sale Orders

- Includes: Entering an order from a customers, taking a deposit on an order, completing an order, editing an order, cancelling an order, reinstating a cancelled order, viewing order activity, releasing an order to a ticket, batch processing for orders, viewing order reports, purchasing the order merchandise.
This lesson focuses only on orders. However, layaways are handled identically (with the exception of batch processing) using Layaway buttons, rather than order buttons.
Printing Labels
- Includes: Using a predefined label job, assigning default label jobs, assigning label codes, printing item labels, printing system labels, printing labels from tags
Receivables
- Includes: Processing a customer's payment, completing a customer adjustment, assessing finance charges, using account management, generating receivable reports
Customizing the Dictionaries
